Serving as president will be Kirk Black; vice-president, Rosanne Smith; secretary, Tammy Quick, and historian, Sylvia Cutler. To illustrate what kind of a year we Scots can look forward to, here’s a brief preview: ‘“United we stand, divided we fall.” As your student body officers for next year, we would like to stress the significance of the above quote. No, not if they have earned recognition as Utah’s outstanding high school seniors; not if they have attained the better-than-excellent position of “Sterling Scholars". This year, four of Ben Lomond’s seniors have become finalists in the third annual Sterling Scholar Awards Program, sponsored by The Deseret News, KSL Radio and KSL-TV. These honor students include Dick Brown, representing B.L. in the Art and Art Crafts category; Gay Estes, English and Literature; Mary Strong, Business Education; and Linda Zitting, Industrial Arts. THE VOTE WINNERS Ben Lomond High finally knows who will guide its classes and lead its cheers for next school year. Directing the Senior Class as officers will be Jim Van Leeuwen, President; Mike Wimmer, Vice-President; and Cheryl Burton, Secretary. Voted to handle the Junior Class’s affairs for 196465, Steve Costley, President; Don Nuttall, Vice-President; and Linda Fishburn, Secretary; have pledged all their sup- port to all of the Scots Rosanne Ben Lomond's Sterling Scholars Attention, Boys! Mike will serve as a member of the Student Executive Council. Ignoring the trend to boy cheerleaders in high school, Ben Lomond will again depend on the fairer sex to evoke spirit at the football and basketball games. These girls will include two returnees from this year’s set group; NOY A our organization is young and inexperienced. We assure you, however. Unity comes only through work and support. As leaders we are working to develop unity. We four can accomplish this unity among ourselves with work. This unity will be ineffectual without your support and your desire for a united student body. Clark Walker will serve as Vice - President and Ron Wood as Secretary. * & Tamera Quick is awaiting word of whether or not she will be sent to Europe by the American Field Service this summer. * % Lana Nicholas will serve as the Bonnie Lassie drill mistress for the year of 1964-65. % % % Linda Watts and Teresa Rivera will edit the Plaid Parade this summer.
