Show 1st QUARTER 2008 VOLUME 6, ISSUE 1 The Weber county Sheriff's Office by Sheriff Brad Slater March 2008 12TH ANNUAL AWARDS DINNER The Weber County Sheriffs Office held our annual awards banquet to honor worthy recipients' for their efforts in 2007. For our Honorary Sheriffs and association members, I have listed the awards received below along with some additional thoughts on the event. This is the first time that we have held the dinner at Weber State University in the ballroom, by all indications from those that I have spoken to it was a great location.__ It was more open and less crowded than our previous venues and had considerably more room for a stage and presentation area. The food was good and the atmosphere comfortable Sheriff Slater As usual the Honor Guard looked tremendous and performed admirably. Katie Hull always carries the day with her outstanding vocal rendition of the National Anthem. I get choked up when I hear it sung listening to Katie sing it so beautifully is no exception. Finally, our citizens, community partners, deputies and civilian staff who received awards represented the office exceptionally well. Those of you that were thoughtful enough to submit them for the well deserved awards are to be commended; your efforts were selfless and compassionate. I am proud of our staff, citizens and all of the Sheriffs Office employees from throughout the state for their great work and efforts. While I had the honor to present the awards, I am humbled to be serving with the greatest employees a Sheriff could hope for. I am grateful to have the incredible privilege of working with each of you.
