This information has left behind rich histories, stories and important information regarding the history of the Marriott-Slaterville area. |

Show The Pioneer Post Volume X Issue 11 Marriott-Slaterville City newsletter November TALL CLEAN-UP The city has scheduled its annual fall clean-up campaign. A dumpster will be located at Marriott Park and at Slaterville Park. Residents are free to use these dumpsters to dispose of fall waste. The dumpsters will be provided at the parks from November 14-16. When using the dumpster, please ensure that all your garbage is put completely inside the dumpster and not left on the ground. This complimentary service is sponsored by Marriott-Slaterville City and Waste Management._ Breakfast WITH SANTA Santa is on his way for breakfast again!!! He will be here on December 13, 2008, from 9:00 - 11:00 AM at the Senior Center, 1570 West 400 North. This will be a fun activity for your family. Space is limited, so get your reservation in early. The Marriott-Slaterville Branch of America First Credit Union and the city is sponsoring this activity. The cost is $2.00 for adults and $1.00 for children 12 and under. Bring your camera! Please RSVP by calling Shauna or Stacee Meyerhoffer @ 394 -7126. Community Awards Each year residents have an opportunity to nominate others in the community for our annual community awards. This is your chance to recognize someone for going above and beyond as a neighbor, business, contributor, leader, or volunteer. Nominations are now being accepted by the Mayor for the following: The Good Neighbor Award - nominate a neighbor or business that is an exemplary example. Elna Lucas Community Culture/History Award -nominate a person who has contributed to our local community history and culture during the year. H. Orvil Holley Youth Leadership Award - nominate any youth who has shown outstanding leadership. Darrell Mecham Community Service Award - nominate an extraordinary volunteer in the community. Invitation to Council meeting on November 20, 2008 at 6:30 PM to attend presentation on 12th Street Reconstruction by UDOT. 4. Site plan for Allied Waste expansion at 798 West 1700 South. 5. Proposal to amend general plan from light residential to manufacturing and commercial by Frank Blair in the vicinity of 400 North similar to a plan from 1990. 6. Update on ongoing projects. 7.
