The event, sponsored by the Prayer Shawl Ministry, is the first quarterly potluck in FUMC's new church. The theme will be Christmastime, so attendees are asked to bring a favorite holiday dish. Celebrate the season at beloved Hoopernacle HOOPER You might travel far and wide, but it is only in the Top of Utah that you'll find the Hoopernacle. The Hoopernacle's neighborly Christmas celebration enters its eighth year at the green-roofed barn, lovingly known by locals as the Hoopernacle Organ Barn. The celebration is at 5539 W. 4200 South. For six years, Hal and Joyce Stoddard have invited the public to their celebration, which features Top of Utah talent and inspirational speakers, beginning next Friday. Hal Stoddard has been steadily restoring the organ in his barn. Eight years ago, the couple decided to share the instrument by having a Christmas program. All performances are at 7 p.m. Christmas music and sing-alongs are featured nightly. Dec. 19: Speaker Nolan Evans, former state trooper Dec. 20: Music by locals Roger and Robin Arnold Dec. 21: Speaker Brad Slater, former Weber County sheriff, with music by Neil and Mary Rasmussen Dec. 22: Cowboy poetry by Don Kennington and Western singer Richard Olsen Dec. 23: Speaker Quinn McKay, former LDS England Coventry Mission president The events are free. Since there is no street number on the barn, it is best to watch for the green roof. For more information, call 731-5006. HOOPERNACLE This performance at the green-roofed barn features speaker Brad Slater, former Weber County Sheriff, as well as music by Neil and Mary Rasmussen and a Christmas carol sing-along, 7 p.m., Hooper Organ Barn, 5539 4200 South, Hooper.
