Governor acts to preserve Great Salt Lake By LORETTA PARK Standard-Examiner Davis Bureau lpark@standard.net ANTELOPE ISLAND Newly appointed members of the Great Salt Lake Advisory Council say they have a big job ahead of them. Gov. Jon Huntsman said Monday he created the Great Salt Lake Advisory Council to maintain and improve Great Salt Lake. The advisory council will conduct a study of Great Salt Lake's ecosystem and create a long-term master plan, all before the end of the year. Huntsman signed an executive order with the lake as a backdrop Monday at Antelope Island State Park after making the announcement about the council. The 12 members consist of environmentalists and representatives from government, businesses and academia. "It's a big job, and there's much that needs to be done," said member Dave Livermore, with The Na- Great Salt Lake Advisory Council State Sen. Dan Eastman Rep.
