Show September 7, 2008 Hislop Charles "Chick" and Dianne Hislop of Marriott-Slaterville celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with their children and their spouses on an eastern Caribbean cruise in the spring. They also held a family dinner at the Prairie Schooner restaurant earlier this week. They were married on Sept. 4, 1958, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Both have been active in the LDS Church and have held many callings. They enjoy traveling, family gatherings and time with their, grandchildren. He was born in Ogden to Curtis and Jennie Hislop. He graduated from Ben Lomond High School and Utah State University with a Master of Science degree in education. He coached at Ben Lomond High School for 10 years. A supporter of Weber State University, he was the men's head track coach for 38 years before his retirement in 2007. In 1996, he was the distance Charles and Dianne Hislop coach for the United States at the Olympics in Atlanta. She was born in Los Angeles to Robert "Bob" and Grace Leatham. She also graduated from Ben Lomond High School and USU. She taught at Mound Fort Middle School for 26 years before her retirement. They have five children and 15 grandchildren. Their children and their spouses are Elynn and Mark Housley, Andover, Kan.; Lance and Teresa Hislop, Roy; Jill and Kurt Gibson, Ogden; Chris and Sallie Hislop, Roy; and Kim and Andy Meikle, Ogden. October 19, 2008 Eilers Eilers Naomi Eilers of Marriott-Slaterville will celebrate her 80th birthday. Her family will host an open house in her honor for family and friends from 3 to 6 p.m. on Oct. 25 at the Marriott-Slaterville LDS Ward building, 250 N. 1500 West. No gifts. She was born on Oct. 31, 1928, in Weston, Idaho, to Otto and Attella Larsen Miller. She graduated from Ogden High School in 1947. On July 1, 1948, she married Lynn Olney in the Logan LDS Temple. They had seven children and later divorced. She retired after 27 years of working for the Internal Revenue Service. On Jan. 14, 1978, she married William "Bill" Eilers. They enjoyed traveling, visiting family, fishing, camping and playing games. He died on Jan. 13, 1985. She volunteered at the Ogden Regional Family History Center, the Union Station and Hospice. She is an active member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers. She enjoys spending time with her family, reading and crocheting. She has served in the Primary, Young Women's, Relief Society and as ward librarian. She served LDS missions to Independence, Mo., and Philadelphia. She now serves as an ordinance worker in the Ogden LDS Temple. Her children and their spouses are Nalyn and Joann Olney, Delmar and DeLana Olney, Vance and Peggy Olney, Kevin Olney, Randall and DeAnna Olney, Brian and Melanie Olney, Charlene and Russell Fischer, Sonja and Dave Slade, Ginger and Patrick MacAnally, and Ear-nie and Marie Eilers. She has 33 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. EAGLE SCOUTS Top of Utah youths who have earned their Eagle in Boy Scouting include: Hunter DeVries, 13, Troop 44, Marriott-Slaterville 3rd Ward.
