The collection includes Autobiographies, Oral Histories, History of Marriott, History of Slaterville, and the History of the Merging Townships to create Marriott-Slaterville City. This information has left behind rich histories, stories and important information regarding the history of the Marriott-Slaterville area. |

Show Marriott-Slaterville History April 2002 Services Department, conducted, beginning with an official welcome. The Park was officially named Riverside Cove. Over 60 volunteers were given a special thanks for their participation. The Arbor Day Proclamation was read by Mayor Butler. Russ Lawrence of the Utah Department of Natural Resources gave instructions for planting the trees. About 300 trees were planted by volunteers and participants. The tree and shrub varieties planted were Water or River Birch, Redosier Dogwood, Black Hawthorn, Nanking Cherry, Alpine Currant, Wood Rose and Golden Willow. The planting was hardly completed when the rain began to fall, bringing the activities to a quick close. Refreshments being served were picked up quickly as participants hurried to their cars. The Drivers License Division has not been allowing residents to list Marriott-Slaterville City on their drivers license. Bill Morris wrote a letter to them regarding this matter. A response from them reported that we can now put "Marriott-Slater" or either Marriott or Slaterville on the licenses. Bits and Pieces Heather Holley won the title of 2002 Weber County Dairy Princess on April 20, 2002. Jackson Glen Taylor, a son of Jason and Jana Taylor was born April 5, 2002. Lauriann Barrett Martin, age 59, died April 7, 2002. Violet Iona Stratton, age 92, died on April 13, 2002. Helen Dott Poulson Huggins died April 25, 2002, at the age of 90. 78 |
