Show Resident and Member of the Planning Committee on National APHA Executive Committee November 28, 2002 COMMUNITY NEWS Parker PAINT HORSE ASSOCIATION: Carl Parker of Marriott- Slaterville was re-elected to the executive committee of the American Paint Horse Association at the organization's 2002 Annual Convention in Omaha, Neb. Parker, an APHA member for more than 20 years, will serve as the association's senior committee member. Parker has been breeding horses for 17 years, has been on the Utah Paint Horse Club board of directors for 12 years and has served as president of the club for eight years. Parker also served on the Utah Horse Council for seven years. Parker and the new committee will lead APHA at a time when the association is registering American Paint Horses at a rate of about 60,000 per year. Since it was founded 40 years ago, APHA has registered more than 693,000 horses in 43 nations. Approximately 70 percent of those horses have received their registration certificates in the last 10 years alone. In addition, the association has now reached a record number of members, with more than 104,000 Paint enthusiasts in 36 countries. 138 |
