Sunday, March 28 Quite warm Dr and I attended S.S. at Weber College Institute Apostle Stephen L. Richrds was main speaker. Had hurried lunch with Cleone as we drove to Centerville to attend funeral service of Bobby Dean Parrish Youngest son of Drs nephew Joel who died from Air plane injury. Cleone went with us. we also called at Fred Richs home in Centerville a nephew. Drove to S.L.C. & saw Oertel, also Maren & family and Aunt Em Rich wife of Uncle Fred Drs brother. Monday, March 29 Wind today. Have written Junior & Blanch and bee buisy at home. Dr quite tired today. War news from Africa & the Pacific look incouraging. Thair Rich now Lt. Col. Has charge of the whole Medical set up in 106th Div at Fort Jackson S.C. he writes they are receiving two or three hundred a day most of the men ar from 18 to 20 yr old There will be about 15,000 officers & men when completed will train for three about six mo. & be sent over seas. He will no doubt go too Tuesday, March 30 Mr. Van der Vene helped me clean the was house & store room. Snowed a little, rained some & finaly the sun came out. Dr and Dr Hancock have spent all forenoon at Dee hospital. Did two major operations. Dr has had a buisy afternoon at the office. He came home very tired & went to bed early. Dr Ezra & Gladys Rich called this afternoon. Both look well & Glady has completed words & music to several songs this winter. Wednesday, March 31 I did not sleep too well as kept hearing planes go over after 12 midnight counted 7 or 8 finaly became so interested I got up & went out side to view the sky & see some of them. They looked like stars traveling very fast and I wondered who the fine boys might be driving them & where they were going. The Allys seem to be driving Rommels Div back further each day.
