Show Tuesday, April 13 Did not attend Relief Society. Am so behind in my work But later in the day Dr Cleone and I decided to drive to Salt Lake to see Oertel. She had to give up her work at Fort Douglas as the Dept was desolved. She expects to go to summer school & take buisness course. We found all well. Called to see Mose Cozzens who is an Ensign in Navy & is going to Harvard Wednesday, April 14 Pres. Franklin D. Roosvelt pays tribute to Jefferson (Thomas) by dedication of a 3,000,000 dollar Memorial Temple in Washington D.C. Allied forces sweep on toward Tunis; finish battle nears. Allied planes rake Europe. 50,000,000 War Bond Quota for Utah 2nd Drive on War loan. 13,000,000,000 drive for the U.S. during April the first day 2,000,000,000 was subscribed Dr took 2,000.00 Thursday, April 15 Friday, April 16 Spent some time in town with Lucile, bought a very nice chair, small, carved back, colonial design. |
