Show Saturday, September 4 A very buisy day at home as fruit is on now & I must fill all my jars. Berlin Blasted With 50 Tons Minute by R.A.F. Block Buster, Fire Bombs, Shower on city LONDON, Sept. 4 A strong fleet of Lancaster bombers dropped 1,000 tons of block busters and fire bombs on Berlin last night in a continuation of the offensive to knock out Germanys capital as a war production center. It was the third raid in 12 nights on Berlin. The highly concentrated assault lasted 20 minute,s with bombs showering down on the battered city out of a clear night sky, the air ministry reported. Rhineland Bombed While the Lancaster force struck Monday, September 6 Sophie Maree Reed married to Bernard Mauriece Richards, Aviation Cadel U.S. Army Oxnard Calif. daughter of Mr & Mrs Harry S. Reed. Attended her announcement party. Donald & folks left at six A.M. to get a load of fruit to take home to Wyoming. I attended D.U.P. Board meeting Voted today to print history of Weber Co. which D.U.P. have been fathering for 30 years. Tuesday, September 7 Dr drove to Huntsville to take Bell Wilson and me to contact D.O. McKay regarding the history of Weber Co which the Daughters of Pioneers now have ready to compile. He was very encouraging and thought by all means it should be done. Gave us some good advice. |
