Ogden forms Wars Mother Club Saturday, July 31 This A.M. Dr & I Dr Ezra his brother Carlyn Smart Sharlyne Brewer, & Myrelle Eccles left Ogden for Bear Lake to attend the Rich reunion. We had a fine breakfast at the Blue Bird in Logan. Arrived at the Lake at 1 P.M. a very enjoyable trip. Secured three cabins in each 2 double beds. Had a good picnic lunch for our party about 3 P.M. A meeting on lake shore at 8 P.M. Myrene & family came at 5 P.M. S.L. Banker Dies Suddenly Fred Rich, 59, prominent Salt Lake banker and political leader, died at his home at Centerville Sunday at 7 p.m. of a heart attack. At the time of his death, Mr. Rich was assistant cashier of the Utah State National bank of Salt Lake City. He had been connected with the bank for the past 32 years and was a member of the Utah State Bankers association. Active in politics, he had been Republican county chairman of Davis county and prominent in Republican party affairs for many years. Mr. Rich was born in Ogden July 29, 1884, the son of Ben E. and Diana Farr Rich. He attended schools in Ogden, Rexburg, Idaho, Chattanooga, Tenn., and in Atlanta, Geo., where his father was president of the southern states mission of the LDS church. He filled an LDS mission to Germany for four years, following which he became affiliated with the Utah State National bank. His first wife, Evelyn Evans Rich, died 10 years ago. He married Winona Burnham of Bountiful seven years ago. In addition to his widow, he is survived by four sons and daughters, Ben E. Rich of San Francisco, Major Max E. Rich of Fort Sill, Okla., Evelyn and Martha Ann Rich of Center; four brothers and sisters, Benjamin Rich of Salt Lake City, Mrs. Ida Strong of Salt lake City, Mrs. Vivian Watkins of Provo, and Frank C. Rich of Fresno, Cal. |
