Show Ladies Literary Club Features Czech Program Nov 10 1943 Of special interest was the program given by Mrs. Wallace Toronto of Salt Lake City, when she spoke on her experience in Czechoslavakia at the time of Hitlers invasion, at the meeting of the Ladies Literary club on Wednesday afternoon. The event was held at the home of Mrs. Adam Patterson, Jr. Mrs. Toronto gave her talk in the native costume of Czechoslavakia. She also sang folk songs of the Czechs, with Miss Claramay Patterson accompanying at the piano. Special guests for the afternoon were Mrs. Charles Sorenson, Logan; Mrs. Thair Rich, Mrs. Edward I. Rich, Mrs. E.A. Larkin, Mrs. E.H. Slade, Mrs. Mariner A. Browning, Miss Claramay Patterson, Mrs. John Lindquist and Mrs. Albert J. Bates. Friday, November 5 Have remained in bed most all day. Blood pressure up 210 over 90. Did not sleep well. I attended a Tea at Gean Ellis with Lucile stayed only a short time. This evening Dr & I attended Knife & Fork Club. dinner. Saturday, November 6 Jeans Ellis Tea was today not yesterday it was given by Blanch, Dorothy Talith & Gean (Browning girls) Blanch was away. Rather hard to keep things going without help. |
