Monday, November 15 Sept 7 mistake The Daughters of Pioneers of Weber Co sponsored Gladys Rich Aloah Sugar Mill operetta this evening at Weber College Music Hall. House was sold out & we cleared over 300.00 I was resonsiable for 250 tickets at 50 cts each & sold 122.00. It was a great success. This was to raise means to put out history of Weber Co. Douglas Hancock my nephew came home on leave as he has completed his flying course & is now an ensign & is going to San Diego & from there over we think Tuesday, November 16 Recd a letter from telling that Thair made a short visite in Calif. As he had to take plane & train back to South Carolina & check his things there & then on to N.Y. for over seas trip. He seems to feel that this will be quite an advancement for him in the U.S. Service. He with five other men recd a special call over. It will be a worry until we receive word of his landing which we pray will be a safe one. I attended 5 Ward R.S. Left Wednesday, November 17 Dr & I hear Dr Vernon Nash talk on The Case for a Federal World Government at Dicks Caf. Was a guest of Lit Club at the house of Gean Ellis. Violet Grix gave a talk on the Bible. Recd a letter from Avon all fine. Cleaned living room. Knife and Fork Club Names Speaker Dr. F.E. Douglas, president of the Ogden Knife and Fork club, today urged members to make early reservations for the meeting Friday night when Dr. Vernon Nash, executive director of the clearing house for 30 national organizations the National Peace conference will be the featured speaker. The club will convene at Dicks caf at seven thirty oclock. Dr. Nash will discuss The Case for a Federal World Government. Since his return from China, Dr. Nash has been widely recognized as a leader in the field of international relations, and has spoken on related subjects before organizations all over the United States, Dr. Douglas said. Friday nights talk is expected to be on eof the most interesting of this seasons program.
