Mark your calendar for these events: * July 2nd - Get Teed-off: The Fourth Annual Golf Tournament Time: 4:30 p.m. Place: Mulligan's Golf Course. Cost: $10 (includes green fees). * July 3rd - Dinner and Karaoke Time: Dinner at 7 p.m., Karaoke at 8 p.m. Place: Slaterville Park July 4th - Celebrate America 7:30 a.m. Beat the Flag Ceremony: 5K run 1K walk. 8:00 a.m. Breakfast: Marriott and Slaterville Parks. 11:00 am. PARADE! 12:00 noon: Lunch and games. * Checker and Chess Tournament July 4th at Marriott Park after the parade. Prizes will be awarded. For rules or questions contact Gerald Taylor at 731-1601. On July 4th some activities are water events, so consider suitable clothing. Come ready to have fun. See you at the activities! Marriott - Slaterville Recreation Summer 2002 ? Summer Tennis. Tennis lessons are available this summer. Single, group, or family rates. Contact Jim Ito at 731-6777 to sign up. You will be furnished with a racquet if you need one. ? Softball. Presentation on EPA Phase II Storm Water: George Burbidge, Weber County Storm Water. 4. Discussion/action on Amended Blair Subdivision adding 1 lot for existing home at 1620 W. 400 N. 5. Adjourn. Notice: the above agendas are only tentative, so it is subject to change. For a final agenda contact the City Office, 627-1919. LOCAL UPDATES Fort Buenaventura. Join Weber County for a ceremony to celebrate a new beginning for Fort Buenaventura on July 1, 2002 from 4:00 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. at Fort Buenaventura at 2450 "A" Avenue in Ogden. Search for Elizabeth Smart. This weekend law enforcement officials are asking Weber County residents to search their fields and farms for clues that may help investigators in this case. Traffic Delays Expected. UDOT informed the city by letter that there will be construction that "will cause heavy delays for motorists traveling through the area." 12th Street and 1900 W will continue to be under construction for some time. Wall Avenue is under major construction. Now I-15 will be under construction and reduced to one lane of traffic from 31st Street to 400 North until September. UDOT recommends using Washington and Harrison Blvds. as alternatives. Governor's Award for Master Plan. The city received Envision Utah's Governor's Quality Growth Award of merit for the general plan on June 5, 2002. 103 |
