Show Senior Health Connection news letter Intermountain McKay-Dee Hospital Center September 2008 Prostate Cancer is the second most common type of cancer among men in this country. Only skin cancer is more common. Studies have found the following risk factors for prostate cancer: Age. Most men with prostate cancer are older than 65 Family history. A What you need to know about Prostate Cancer man's risk is higher if his brother or father has had prostate cancer Race. Prostate cancer is more common in African American Men Diet. Some studies show that men who eat a diet high in fat, may be at an increased risk for prostate cancer. The American Cancer Society recommends being screened for prostate caner annually, beginning at age 50. Men at high risk should begin screening at age 45. It is important to talk to your doctor to see if screening is right for you. Chocolate Zucchini Mini Muffins 1/2 cup melted butter 1/2 cup oil 1 3/4 cup sugar 2 eggs 1 tsp vanilla 1/2 cup buttermilk 2 cups grated zucchini, small grater 2 1/2 cups whole wheat flour 1/2 tsp salt 4 Tbsp cocoa powder 1 tsp baking soda 1/2 tsp cinnamon 2 cups chocolate chips, divided Mix all dry ingredients except for chocolate chips. Add wet ingredients. Stir in 1 cup chocolate chips. Pour in mini muffin cups. Top batter with last cup of chocolate chips. Bake at 375 for 12-15 minutes. You can also bake this in a 9x13 pan or regular muffin tin. Bake at 325 for a 9x13 pan. This makes a lot and they freeze great! 71 |
