Show CAPT. EDGAR K. GARDNER, ‘79, has been chosen Junior Officer of the Year for the 26th Air Division, United States Air Force. He is the chief of the Electronic Warfare Branch at March AFB, Ca. JOHN W. EDWARDS, ‘74, and his wife, LINDA (SMITH) EDWARDS, ‘75, are working together in the P.E. department of Centerville Junior High in Centerville, Utah. John finished his master's degree in physical education at BYU, while working as assistant coach at Viewmont High School in Bountiful, Utah. He applied for a transfer in order to get into a teaching position and was sent to Centerville Jr. High where Linda is department head. The Edwards worked together for two years following their marriage in Saudi Arabia. They handled the entire P.E. program for grades 1-9 at an academy for english-speaking students. SUSAN (HILL) MCCOLLUM, ‘79, received a law degree from the J. Reuben Clark Law School in Provo, Utah (BYU). She has since passed the California Bar Exam and been accepted by the law firm of Hollister and Brace in Santa Barbara, Ca. SCOTT D. CHAMBERLAIN, ‘75, was RICHARD A. LAMB, ‘83, has completed basic training in the U.S. Army at Fort Dix, N.J. He received instruction in drill and ceremonies, weapons, map reading, tactics, military courtesy, military justice, first aid and Army history and traditions. RICHARD SACCONE, ‘81, has been commisioned a 2nd Lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force after graduating from the Officer Training School at Lackland AFB, TX. He is currently assigned to the Los Angeles Air Force Station. JIM SUPINO, ‘81, was recently promoted to Materials Administrator for the Customer Services department of KAMAN Instrumentation Corp., in Colorado Springs, Colo. This company is a leader in instrumentation for nuclear power plants. pro- LARRY ELLIS, ‘83, was recently reassigned to the U.S. Coast Guard Air Station at Miami, as Avionics Officer and Engineering Administration Officer. He is a 16-and-a-half-year veteran. © JAMES HARTWELL JR., ‘81, has been chosen Instructor of the Year for the 3625th Technical Training Squadron. He is an air weapons controller at Tyndall AFB, Fla., with the rank of ist Lieutenant. 1980's ROBERT J. ATWATER, ‘75, received the "Honor Medal” for unusual heroism from the Boy Scouts of America for saving the lives of two other people at considerable risk to his own life. Less than 2000 Honor Medals have been awarded in the 74 year history of the Boy Scouts. Atwater resides in New Lenox, Illinois. PAUL O, HEDIN JR., ‘82, has been commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force after graduation from Officer Training School at Lackland AFB, TX. He will now be assigned to Offccutt AFB, NB. ALLYSON A, DAICH, ’80, has been assigned to Lowry AFB, Colo., after completing basic training in the Air Force Reserve at Lackland AFB, Tx. Airman Daich studied the Air Force mission, organization and customs, and received specialized training in human relations. She will now receive specialized instruction in the munitions and weapons maintenance field. JAMES STEVE LARGENT,'83, was selected to serve as a field representative for the Utah Heart Association. He will oversee fund-raising activities in addition to other responsibilities at the affiliate office in Salt Lake City. D. MIZE, ‘80, was promoted in the U.S. Army to the rank of captain in November 1983. He is currently serving with the 502nd Combat Aviation Battalion at Fort Hood, Tx. moted to general manager of the Kier Corp., and Ogden-based general contracting, real estate and development firm. Chamberlain has been with the firm since 1976 and is a licensed certified public accountant. | jg SAM GAUFIN, ‘75, graduated with honors from the University of Utah College of Law in 1978 and has since been employed as a trial lawyer with the firm of Van Cott, Bagley, Cornwall and McCarthy in Salt Lake City. His wife, GLORIA ANN (TRUJILLO), '72, is a registered nurse in the coronary care/intensive care units of Fox Hospital in Oneonta, New York.
