FINANCIAL AIDS The Financial Aids Program, consisting of grants, loans, scholarships, and opportunities to work, is established to assist students in receiving an education that otherwise might not be available to them. The belief that educational opportunities should be accessible to all students, regardless of race, religion, social or economic background, has been and will continue to be the motive behind the generosity and interest of those who make the Weber State College Financial Aid Programs possible. The general criteria for eligibility to participate in the grant, loan, or work program of Financial Aids is enumerated as follows: 1. You are a U.S. Citizen or are in the United States for other than a temporary purpose and intend to become a permanent resident. 2. You have established your financial need by means of the appropriate financial aids application which may be secured from the Office of Financial Aids, or High School Counselor. 3. You are enrolled or have been accepted for enrollment at Weber State College. 4. You maintain "good standing" at Weber State College. In those cases wherein a student who has otherwise been determined eligible to receive financial aids and thereafter fails to maintain "good standing", the eligibility of such student shall be suspended, and no further financial aids will be processed until he or she regains good standing. The financial aids for a student will be terminated at the culmination of two successive quarters in which the student's cumulative GPA has been less than 2.00 unless the student has otherwise met with a Financial Aid Counselor and arranged for an authorized exception based upon illness, personal or other valid reasons as evaluated by the counselor. The students are also expected to complete at least 50% of their enrolled classes by each term by receiving grades other than I (Incomplete), NC (no credit), and W (withdrawn). Students who have been terminated or suspended for failure to maintain satisfactory progress may be reinstated when their subsequent performance becomes 2.00 or higher.
