Philosophy— Philosophy 1, Introduction to Philosophy (5) Philosophy 100, History of Philosophy (5) or Philosophy 115, Esthetics (5) Philosophy 150, History and Philosophy of Occidental Religions (3) or Philosophy 155, History and Philosophy of Oriental Religions (3) Life Sciences: The area requirement in Life Sciences may be satisfied by completing 9 to 12 credit hours selected from the courses given below and must be chosen from at least two subject fields. It is recommended that students who have received a "B" grade or better in Zoology, Botany, or Physiology in high school and who score in the upper half of the American College Test (ACT), satisfy the general education requirement by electing courses in different areas from those completed in high school. Withdrawal from the lectures (series "1") requires automatic withdrawal from the laboratory (series "11"). Credit will not be given for one class without the other being passed successfully. Similar conditions are in effect for Botany 2 and Botany 21. Physical Sciences: General Education Physical Science Area The Physical Science area requirements may be met by satisfactorily completing 9-12 hours selected from at least TWO of the fields listed below. Introduction to Geology, (5). Rocks and Minerals, (4). General Geology, or Geology 51, Physical Geology, (5). Geomorphology, (4). Introduction to Physics, (5). Meteorology, (5).
