Show THE EVENING SCHOOL AND OFF CAMPUS PROGRAM Paul G. Butterfield, Director; Terry E. Paskins, Coordinator The general objectives of the continuing education program are those of the institution as listed on page 25. In addition the following specific objectives serve as guidelines in program planning; 1 . To provide a broad curricular program at the college level which will aid those who cannot normally pursue an educational program during the day in advancing toward goals ordinarily sought by full-time students. 2. To provide courses and programs of value and interest to adults which meet specialized needs not ordinarily satisfied by the regular college day program. 3. To provide educational extension services which will improve proficiency of personnel employed in industry, business and government. 4. To provide an extension of the day school which will increase the number of class sections to accommodate more students and to allow them greater flexibility in registration. Evening School—The Evening School serves the needs of adults and youth of the Weber State College area who desire courses for personal improvement or who wish to increase their skills for occupational efficiency. It also serves those students who find it expedient to attend evening classes instead of day classes. Classes are held from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., Monday through Thursday. Off-Campus Program—The Off-Campus instructional program is designed to provide credit and non-credit educational opportunities to groups off the campus who wish to improve their vocational and personal competencies. Classes are held Monday through Saturday at times consistent with the requirements of the requesting group. The college cooperates with the various military installations, businesses, and civic groups in planning and presenting specific courses to meet the needs of employees. 309 |
