Show The Department of Paramedical Sciences includes the Dental Assisting program and X-Ray Technology curriculum. Dental Assisting The Dental Assisting curriculum is a nine-month training program for individuals wishing to serve in dental offices and clinics. It is conducted under the Manpower Development and Training Act and is administered jointly with the Division of Technical Education. Utah State Department of Vocational Training and the U.S. Office of Employment Security cooperate in the presentation of the courses. It is under the direction of a licensed dentist and taught by two full-time instructors. Dentists in the Ogden area and Weber State College faculty often serve as special lecturers. The curriculum consists of formal classroom training and on-the-job practi- cum. A Certificate of Proficiency is awarded upon completion of the course. DENTAL ASSISTING Description of Courses 001.
