An audit by the tax commission on several businesses operating in the area has been requested by the staff. Some businesses have not been paying sales tax. Erin Spencer won the Student of the Month Elks Award for the month of December, and received a $100.00 prize. She competed with students from Logan to Bountiful, and was judged on scholastic, service, leadership and citizenship achievements. Todd Spencer and Tyson Heslington's Power Stroke Band competed in the Battle of the Bands at Fremont High School and won first place. They then took second place in the Standard Examiner sponsored Battle of the Bands competition, competing with bands from Box Elder, Weber, and Davis Counties. Udell and LaVon Funk celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. They were married on December 28, 1953.
