Show Summer Road Projects Each summer the city completes several road projects to maintain the integrity of the road surface. This year the city will be chipping and sealing two routes, and making upgrades to a third. First, 1200 West (Tomlinson Road) will be chipped and sealed south from about Wahlquist Jr. High to 12th Street. Second, 700 South will be chipped and sealed west from 1200 West (Tomlinson Road) to the end of the asphalt. Third, a small portion of west 17th Street near the Slaterville Diversion Dam will be upgraded. The asphalt will be widened to accommodate a trail that will be lined by cement barriers to help reduce dumping problems. Shoulder repairs may be made prior to each project. The chip and seal projects should be completed in about one day on or about July 14, 2003, and the third project should commence and be completed sometime during July. Although the chipping and sealing process is often inconvenient for drivers, this process is necessary to seal cracks and breaks that develop in the road over time due to traffic, water damage, and extreme summer and winter temperatures. Please plan your travel route to avoid road construction projects when possible, and thank you for being a courteous driver.
