An employee of Miller Kennels, Meyerhoffer spends his working hours walking and feeding the dogs and tending birds. "I really like animals," he said. "I have a black lab named Grace. She's pretty cool." The second youngest of five children, Meyerhoffer said he enjoys school and plans to continue his education by attending college. First, he'll serve a mission for the LDS Church, hoping to be called to Scotland or Switzerland. He's also one merit badge away from earning his Eagle Scout. "He's a good student," Janet Meyerhoffer said. "He's really good at socializing at school. He loves to talk." Meyerhoffer said he gives a lot of credit to his parents for the way he has turned out. "They're great," he said. "My dad is a hard worker and my mom is a great cook. She always has good food for us. That's important."
