The diaries also include newspaper and magazine clippings, memorabilia and pins. |

Show Thursday, April 9, 1953 Snowed about eight inches of wet snow last nite and snowed all forenoon. I attended funeral of Sister T.B. Wheelwright today and spoke at funeral at 2 p.m. This is my 85 birthday and our 59th anniversary All our Family came this evening and brought cooked food we had a delicious dinner and evening together Many cards and telephone calls of congratulation. A wonderful banquet from alumni association of Jefferson Medical College The Weber Co Medical society, My Sunday School class, and flowers and cards from many friends and neighbors We are very happy and thankful for all this Friday, April 10, 1953 Quiet day. Recd letters from Charles Smart and cards from Ruth & Richard and Reed Rich Snow melting but is snowing again tonite. Have written several letters and send out several prints of our anniversary and my birthday. Several people have called on phone and congratulated us. Saturday, April 11, 1953 Stormy day. I have been home all day except brief trip to market. This evening we Oertel, Mother & I attended a lecture and pictures on Africa at High School Auditorium Very good Sunday, April 12, 1953 Stake Quarterly Conference (East Ogden Stake) We attended in forenoon. Joe Brewer Jr and grandson spoke as a returned missionary from England Stayner Richards assist to 12 and Paul Childs were visiting benchmen good meeting Cold & Stormy we remained home in afternoon and evening Dr Jr Called in afternoon I wrote to Jeff. Med Colleg Alumni Assoc to thank them for flowers sent me on my birthday |
