Show Ciass Notes JAMES R. BREITWEISER has been elected president of the Independent Insurance Agents of Ogden. He succeeds Dennis Garner. Mr. Breitweiser has been in the insurance business for 15 years and operates Breitweiser Insurance Services. He is director of the Northern Utah Chapter, Chartered life Underwriters and an instructor of CLU courses offered through WSC. BOYD L. DASTRUP received a Ph.D. in” U.S. Military and Diplomatic History from Kansas State University, Manhattan, Kansas in December of 1980. He wrote his dissertation on the U.S. military occupation of Nuremberg, Germany after World War II* which he is preparing for publication. Dr. Dastrup is a ‘71 graduate of WSC and received his master’s degree from Utah State University. Presently he is Base Historian for the Sheppard Technical _ Training Center, Sheppard Air Force Base, Wichita Falls, Texas. He is also writing a book on the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas for their Centennial Anniversary, which will be published in the fall of 1981. He is married to the former Karen Colleen Mackey of Dodge City, Kansas and is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence A. Dastrup of Ogden. DEAN DAILY has been promoted to assistant vice president and manager of the First Security Washington Drive-in office. A graduate of WSC, Daily joined First Security in 1960. NOLAN ARCHIBALD has been elected president of the Stiffel Co., a Westminster, Calif. based division of Beatrice Foods. He is a WSC graduate and played on the first WSC team to participate in the NCAA tournament. He also earned a master’s degree in business administration from Harvard. Mr. Archibald is also president of Liken Home Furnishings, another Beatrice Division. Stiffel is a manufacturer of lamps and lighting fixtures. He is married to the former Margaret Hafen of St. George. They have five sons. WILEY SMITH has been appointed to the Environmental Planning Commission in Alburquerque, N.M. where he is a private merketing engineer in highway and drainage engineering. He attended WSC before graduating from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point in 1964. He is married to the former Sandra Peterson of Clearfield. DR. RICHARD O. PETTY, an Ogden dentist and a former member of the State Dental Health committee, is president of the Weber District Dental Society. The society will sponsor an educational program in the schools and participate in other community programs as it emphasizes preventive dental care. Dr. Petty attended WSC and graduated from Northwestern University of © Chicago in 1970-71. RONALD J. HARRIS has been promoted from warranty administrator of sedimentation products to applications engineer of filteration products at the Eimco Process Machinery Division of Envirotech. He will assist in preparation of proposals and asses new marketing opportunities for filtration equipment for use in field sales. He holds a B.S. degree in business management from WSC. ROBERT V. GLASMANN has been elected president of the Weber Club. He is owner of Western Arts Printing and Platemaking and served the past year as vice president of the club. URRY has been promoted to Timeway loan officer in the main Ogden office of the First Security Bank. A WSC graduate, Mr. Urry joined the bank as a management trainee in 1978 and was assistant manager of the First Security State Bank of Twelfth Street before his promotion.
