Willard Marriott, Sr. The allied health building will have four floors totaling 59,000 square feet and will be officially designated the J.W. Marriott Health Sciences Building. The announcement came during the regular monthly meeting of the college's governing board and was done in honor of Marriott's “personal attainments and generous support of Weber State.” _ Marriott has established a $1 million endowment to be used for faculty development in the School of Allied Health Sciences, said President Rodney H. The School of Allied Health Sciences is nationally recognized and provides training in nursing, dental hygiene, paramedics, nuclear medicine, respiratory therapy and _ related health care fields. The building will be constructed in a stair-step fashion with each level recessed from the lower level and built into the hillside located north of the Stewart Library and west of the Croft Arboretum. The bottom level of the building will have entrances from main campus walkways while the upper floor will open to the Wildcat Stadium parking lot. The cost of the building is estimated at $6.1 million and will be comprised mainly of laboratories and special instruction space. Construc- tion in 1927, starting with a six-seat A&W root beer stand.
