Show May 10, 2003 Up to their ears in biosolids queries SYRACUSE - No more calls! No more stops to the sewer district for human fertilizer! The North Davis County Sewer District is completely out of biosolids for the summer season, and district officials are pleading with the public to go elsewhere for their gardening needs. But don't despair. In Davis County, the Central Davis County Sewer District, 2627 W. Shepard Lane in Kaysville, sells biosolids composted with wood chips for $10 a pickup load. The facility is open every day from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. with the exception of lunch, when they close from noon to 1 p.m. Biosolids are also available at the Weber County Compost Facility, 2618 W. Pioneer Road, Marriott-Slaterville, mixed with green waste. Among their biosolid products are screened fine soil conditioner, which sells for $15 per yard, and yard/garden medium mulch that sells for $12 per yard. The compost facility is open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Saturday. - Standard-Examiner May 27, 2003 Part of 1900 West set for closure MARRIOTT-SLATERVILLE - State Road 126 (1900 West) will be closed for four days from 12th Street to 1350 South, the Utah Department of Transportation advises. Thursday through Sunday, the stretch of road will be closed for concrete work on the new railroad bridge deck. Concrete will be poured the first day and will require the next several days to cure, according to a UDOT news release. Motorists may use Interstate 15 as an alternate route. Access to the 1350 South business park and streets south of 1350 South will be from 21 st Street. Motorists should expect heavy congestion through the 1900 West/12th Street intersection and are advised to avoid the area. |
