The year 1965-66 will be another filled with important events. At the beginning of the year the fine arts center should be completed. This $2,800,000 group of facilities includes an auditorium with 1800 audience capacity, a theatre with 350 audience capacity, excellent facilities for music and speech and a new art building. This cultural center will make it possible to offer to the students and to the community the finest facilities for promoting cultural classes and events available in the seventy-seven years of the college's history. Another important building will be available for the beginning of the 1965-66 year. This new $1,500,000 library building will fill a need that has existed for many years. This important center of learning will have a capacity for approximately 300,000 volumes and is constructed in such a way that it can be expanded when the need arises. During 1965-66 a $3,000,000 science building and a $570,000 administration building will be under construction. Weber's most important educational asset is its scholarly faculty. During 1965-66 a faculty of 235 full-time members will conduct the educational program. These individuals hold advanced degrees from the major universities of the country and from some foreign countries. This catalog describes the educational opportunities offered by Weber State College during the 1965-66 school year. It is my hope that those who attend will exert the necessary effort to obtain the maximum benefits possible from these opportunities. WILLIAM P. President MILLER 11 |
