Since 1953, students at Ben Lomond High School have been creating scrapbooks. These books document the memories of the students each year. The scrapbooks hold a snapshot and time capsule of each student body. Each one contains photographs, newspaper articles and a written yearly history. |

Show WASHINGTON TO THE 1970 GRADUATING BEN LOMOND HIGH SCHOOL CLASS It is traditional on commencement day to congratulate the senior class and to address all of the graduates in terms of what the future holds for them. I am breaking that tradition, and instead of congratulating and addressing the class as a whole, I would prefer to direct my thoughts to each of you individually, through this letter. If I had the this is what opportunity to greet I would say: each of you individually, Congratulations -- on being who you are, a unique human being capable of making a special contribution to our nation and the world. Congratulations on being fortunate enough to have parents and teachers and administrators who care deeply about you. ~I don't have to tell you what the future holds know that life has responsibilities as well as failures You and as well as Successes, know that our nation offers faces grave problems. tragedies splendid as for youe rewards , well as opportunity You joys. -. i On your commencement day, then, the important question is what you hold for the future. I am confident that your special and irreplaceable qualities of mind and heart and spirit will contribute to the building of a strong, free and just nation and a peaceful world. As you go forward you take with you my best wishes and highest hopes. |
