Coach Hassell has coupled together a ‘'box car'' line and has assembled some streamlinebacks; and if Mr. Hassell can find the right order for his transit, the Scotty Express could chug its way to a championship. Coach Hassell is using two new coachs to help pour coal onto the fire. Mike Jones, a former Davis High track coach and assistant football coach, is centering his attention on the backs. Ace King, a former BL track star and presently a is workStudent teacher from Weber State College, ing with the ends. The team itself is made up of returning lettermen and some strong juniors up from last year's soph team. Coach Hassell is using a platoon system - an offensive team and a defensive team, with the stress on defense. The coachs feel that a good defense can overcome a good offense. The offense will work out of split T with the line set strong to the right. If the offense can come up with one or two TD's each game, thedefense should be able to make it stand. The first game with BoxElder could be the toughest game of the year sence the Bees look like the team to beat from up north. In division two, a real dog fight could develop. The team that gets the breaks will get the title. The football team will do its best to represent BL. However, a team is only as good as the support is gets. LET'S NOT LET THEM DOWN!!! |
