Show You Moke the Vows Ben Lomond High School VOLUME OGDEN, UTAH, FRIDAY, 17 SEPTEMBER 19, 1969 NUMBER 2 IRON HORSE UP FOR GRABS IN TRADITIONAL CONTEST This afternoon Ben Lomond will meet Ogden High School at Ogden City Stadium in the for the Iron Horse. Game time is 5 p.m. traditional battle Today’s game will be the 17th meeting of the two schools. Ogden has shown great domination since the series began, winning the ‘train” 12 out of 16 years. During the first 11 years, Ben Lomond was able to win only twice, in 1953 and 1956. The Scots regained the trophy again in 1965 and 1967. At the present time, it is in the hands of Ogden High School. The Iron Horse battle will be the only game not played in the new Ben Lomond stadium. The band will be dressed in the new kilts which were received during the summer. Everyone is invited to the game and the admission charge is S. B. card and 25 cents. The Ogden High School team is coached by veteran Ira Winger, a longtime coach at Highland Junior High School. The public will be able to see this fine production on either of two nights, the 23rd or 24th of October. We have a very talented cast this year and for the first time a sophomore girl will have the female lead. She is Vickie Cummings and she will be playing the part of Emily. The cast of the play is: Student director, Carole Thorsted; stage manager, Larry Vail; Dr. Gibbs, Dwight Brough; Joe Crowell, Tom Williams; Howie Newsome, Steve Pemberton; Mrs. Gibbs, Mari McAllister; Mrs. Webb, Janice Thompson; George Gibbs, Dave Jones; Rebecca Gibbs, Paula Hadley; Wally Webb, Wesley McNeil; Professor Willard, Paul Kuykendal. It’s going to be such a big surprise that even the newspaper staff could get no other information about it. The new Seminary teachers are Bro. Holley, principal; Bro. Hepworth, Bro. Kunzler, Bro. Allen, Bro. Beardall, and Bro. Christensen (an oldie). The Seminary officers for the year 1969-70 are Dwight Brough, president; Chad Checketts, vice-president; Dawn Dawson, secretary; John Wolthuis, senior representative; Debra Spong, junior representative; and Rick Austin, sophomore representative. Renae Muir is the publicity manager. The Seminary plans a big year, including a movie a month plus those after home basketball games. The Seminary officers have chosen senators for each class in the Seminary.
