APRIL 29, 1970 The liberty of the press is a blessing when we are inclined to write against others and a calamity when we find ourselves overborne by the multitude of our assailants. —Samuel Dear reface Editor, \\ I agree with Chad Checketts | as far as most things in his letter are concerned. I think keeping dropouts out of our school should be the faculty’s job, not the students. It should also be part of the faculty’s job to get assemblies. One thing in his letter sort Now I will be the last person to knock the Administration (and the first to be executed without a trial), of bothered me. EDITORIAL NOTE: I have heard, directly and indirectly, that not everyone agrees with this column. They believe I am tearing down the school while I should be building it up. Naturally, action will eventually be taken on every one of the many problems in this school if you only look on the good and overlook the bad. Most of these people did not even have the courage to tell me themselves that they did not like my opinions. They only complain to themselves. If you don’t like it, write a letter to the editor about it and have the nerve to stand up for your convictions. The greatest wrong in this cent of the students are work. Dear Editor, Although I feel slightly ashamed to admit it, the recent assembly put on by the “Modern Choir” was the first one I’ve been to during the year. If any of the other assemblies were anywhere near the fantastic proportions of this one, I’ve really missed a lot. The imagination that was used in the scenery was great; the singing beautiful, and the accompanists perfect. Altogether, I feel that this is a production that Ben Lomond can well be proud of.
