Show WEDNESDAY, APRIL 1, 1970 VOICE Dear Editor, I would like to congratulate every one who was involved in the production of ‘‘Music Man.” I never realized before this year how much work a major production of this sort involves. The cast spent two to three hours each night since we got back from Christmas vacation, plus many hours on weekends preparing for the performance. The members of the cast, the orchestra, the directors, and the technicians can be proud of the great job they did. The student body can also be proud of the fine production that came under the heading of Ben Lomond Drama and Music departments. Thank you all, Dan Walker. Dear Editor, This is not a letter to cut down any person or our school, but an apology to all those students and their dates who attended the Girls’ Association Dance. The Girls’ Association is very sorry that the frappe which was serevd as refreshment was hard and should have been served with spoons. To our knowledge a frappe is to be soft and slushy, but when it was delivered it. was hard. Without us knowing, the frappe was put in the foods room freezer one hour before the dance and by the time it was to be served it was frozen. We know that some people stained jackets and formals and the Girls’ Association officers are very sorry this all happen- HIGHLANDER OF THE SCOTS the ball and wake up to the fact that they’re Scots, too, and this school is theirs and their responsibility as much as the seniors. It’s easy to criticize others, but quite a different thing to get in and help the seniors to make this school something to be proud of. Chad Checketts Dear Editor, Yesterday while I was sitting in shorthand my brand new pair of panty-hose were viciously attacked by the desk. After removing my nylons from the clutches of this horrible beast I noticed that there were two small holes just above the knee. The two small holes proceeded to grow into one large run. This made me mad because these were not the first pair of nyHe that the desk had destroyed. In talking to other girls I have found that there is a whole clan of these nylon-destroying desks around this school. I think that if the school can get a new heating system because the old one is causing air pollution, that they could sand some of the older desks so that a girl can sit at a desk without worrying about having her nylons ruined. This may sound like a stupid complaint, but I’m sure any girl who has to pay $2.00 or more for a pair of panty-hose only to have them ripped to pieces | by a desk the first time she wears them, doesn’t think it’s so funny. : Editor: Many of us, I’m sure—faculty and students alike — have walked this campus for months and wondered if we were alone in our disappointment at a horribly-trashy, student — littered school. Surely everyone has seen the carefully prepared posters designed to inspire pride and promote cleanliness on campus. I’m sure I must speak for many in thanking the student officers for their efforts in this regard. Let us all hope that the studentbody wil unite to recognize the problem. Let the trash cans earn their keep. M. J.
