Dear The defeated Scots Skyview, up an Eagle on No. 9 hole, coming complaining RANAE 2 trom three strokes behind to defeat Brad Page. This was the difference in the match. With three more matches to that we have an excellent chance to go to state. If the Editor: team doesn’t playoffs, make the look good things for the next two years with only two seniors in the top eight positions. In individual play Mitch Hyer leads the team with three victories, one tie and one loss. One person saying things like this is a bigger disgrace than any ten students knocking someone in an assembly. I agree that knocking people tears the people who do it down, but not GARY MUIR Ranae will be a graduate of the class of ’70 this year. Ranae likes reading, horseback riding, swimming, art work, and boys, with a question mark. She is the Betty Crocker “Homemaker of Tomorrow,” a member of the A Cappella Choir, the Seminary publicity manager, is on the Honor Society and played the mayor’s wife in ‘Music Man.” Ranae would like to go to college and study to be a teacher (good luck!). She holds a 4.0 grade point average. She likes to sew, read, watch TV, and be a teacher’s aid in her spare time. When asked for added facts her reply was as such— 393-4628. BROUGH Gary, our student body president of next year, is a threeterm ROTC cadet. He was the sophomore officer of the Seminary and is a member of the Ben Lomond Debate Team: He is also a member of the A Cappella Choir. Gary is an excellent scholar and gets good grades (except for history). Gary is a very active Scot and is a good artist. He is an Eagle Scout and a member of the “Order of the Golden Arrow.” Gary has been in several drama productions, “South Pacific,” “See How They Run,” “Our Town”, and “The Music Man.” He is a member of the Honor Society. pen participation—BUT — we also understand why no There 2 record. ers chalked Quote, “This school is a oe disgrace. There has been so little participation that you can hardly tell there IS a Junior Class. Of course the easiest thing is to blame it on the Junior Class officers. And for those of you who didn’t think the “clique” would accept you, ask anyone in the assembly if we all didn’t have a good time together. In addition, I feel that the talent that was displayed deserved the respect of the audience and those who proved themselves so ignorant with their rude display to that group I say, GROW UP! ha MAY In order to qualify for the State Class A Golf TournaBen Lomond must it. Why do they suddenly care ment so much now? It’s too late now, place at least third in the I do feel, though, that the juniors put on such an outlandish assembly that they should have thought. It’s better to have no assembly at all than one to be cut down forever. ‘here Golfers in Line For Playoffs Editor: This letter is directed toward those Junior Class students who are complaining about the assembly despite their unwillingness to try to be in and improve - I wish to comment on the socalled Junior Class Assembly. I was embarrased, along with many other students, at the nerve of some people! How anyone could present such a piece of junk to the studentbody really amazes me. I hope the students don’t look at that assembly and blame it upon all the juniors because I’m one and I’m not proud of it.-I practically crawled out of that assembly because I was so embarrassed and I know many others were, too. I’m glad to know that another junior assembly is being planned where no cutting of the classes or dirt will be displayed. Here talent is the object. Dear FRIDAY, HIGHLANDER Page 2 can one — are a selected few in this school who put themselves above everybody else. Most of them aren’t particularly outstanding in anything. They do average work and they receive average grades. What we're saying is that they’re normal people just like the rest of us. They just THINK they’re better than we are. That’s the reason that there was so little participation in the assembly. We were afraid of being hurt and/or embarrassed by these people who think that the only way to build themselves up is to cut others down. A lot of talk goes on about Ogden High School’s “clique.” It may be true. Let’s not have it be true here. Come on BEN LOMOND — ABOLISH the Clique!!!! —Names have been withheld by request because of the many Scots who signed it. 5 reat school. Anyone who feels otherwise is tearin down this school.
