Mayor Keith Butler presented a copy to Chief Thompson, commending him for the outstanding performance. The Sheriff's office was asked to continue watching trucks on 1200 West for conformance to weight and speed limits. Violation of the limits has been a continuing problem. The Neighborhood Watch and Sheriff's Advisory Committee issued safety pointers at their quarterly meeting which were printed in The Pioneer Post. Suspicious activities can be reported to the law enforcement dispatch at 629-8221. Be conscious of suspicious activities in your neighborhood, especially at night. Nearly half of all successful burglaries are made possible by entrance through unlocked doors and windows. Keep external doors and windows locked and in good repair. Outside doors should have a sturdy deadbolt. Display your address so emergency vehicles can quickly find your home. When you travel, or if you are frequently away from home, create the illusion that your home is occupied by having light timers, and do not let mail and newspapers pile up. HOW ABOUT SOME FUN? All activities within the city did not concern problems. We had excellent activities which were fun for our citizens.
