The city contribued $200 for the Bag-o-wode program this year. Wode is considered a noxious weed and is threatening to take over many open spaces in Northern Utah. It is a problem along roadsides and in vacant lots. This year's program was very successful and the city received a letter from county officials thanking us for our participation. Residents were again offered the opportunity for tennis lessons by the Marriott-Slaterville Tennis Association. The cost for ages 8 to 14 is $5.00 for 4 lessons for residents, $10.00 for non-residents. If there is sufficient interest, an adult program may be offered. Bits and Pieces Ruby Murakami passed away on May 2, 2007, at the age of 93. Barbara Ann Keith Oram passed away on May 31, 2007, age 43. Elijah Brandley, Kiera Dimick, Pamela Draper, Catherine Elmer, Hank Evenhuis, Jessica Farr, Anastasia Flitton, Jacob Hinds, David Hirschi, Bryce Kautzman, Joel Machenheimer, Dennis Mecham, Joseph (J. C.) Oram, Ashley Singer, Annie Spencer, Erin Spencer, Ian Stanger, Jory Syme and Jeff Zinz, graduated from Fremont High School. Tristan Anderson, Hannah Brandley, Dillon Brown, Logan George, Dallin Holley, Aaron Hunsaker, Kirsten Kidd, Breckin Lassen, Matt Nielsen, Jonathan Spencer, Zack spencer and Kaliegh Wayment were on the Third Quarter Honor Roll at Walquist Junior High School. Blaine Draper was presented the Award of Merit for his leadership work in the Boy Scouts of America. Danielle Nielsen will be the Co-head Cheerleader at Fremont High School for the 2007-08 school year. Kaleigh Wayment will be a Ninth Grade officer at Wahlquist Junior High School for the coming school year. Jessica Burr graduated May 5, 2007, from Southern Utah University with a Bachelors Degree in Biology. She also competed in the Miss SUU pageant and was chosen Third Attendant, and Miss Photogenic. 109 |
