To urge Americans to join the battle against these diseases, February is proclaimed "American Heart Month." Heart disease and stroke are the most common Cardiovascular diseases. accounting for nearly 40% of all annual deaths. Two of the major risk factors for cardiovascular disease are high blood pressure and high blood cholesterol. Here are some things that can help you control your blood pressure and cholesterol: Eat a diet low in saturated fats and cholesterol Maintain a healthy weight Get regular exercise Follow your healthcare providers recommendations. Eliminate tobacco Control diabetes (Source: American Heart Association) 15 Minute Chicken Rice and Broccoli Dinner 1 Tbsp oil 4 boneless chicken breasts 1 can condensed reduced sodium cream of chicken soup 1 1/2 cups water 2 cups Minute white rice, uncooked 2 cups fresh broccoli florets Heat oil in large nonstick skillet on medium-high heat. Add chicken, cook 4 minutes on each side or until cooked. Remove from skillet. Add soup and water to skillet. Bring to boil. Stir in rice and broccoli. Top with chicken; cover. Cook on low heat 5 minutes. Serves 4 33
