Show Senior Information, November 2007 Senior Health Connection newsletter Intermountain November 2007 Lung Cancer: What You Need To Know November is National Lung Cancer Awareness Month. Lung Cancer is the second leading cause of death in men and women, and causes 30 percent of all cancer deaths in the United States. Lung Cancer is a disease that begins in the tissue of the lungs. A few of the symptoms of lung cancer are: coughing, short-Caramel Apple Bars 1 cup brown sugar 1/2 cup butter or mar- garine, softened 1/4 cup shortening 1 3/4 cups all purpose flour 1 1/2 cups quick- cooking oats 1 tsp salt 1/2 tsp baking soda 4 1/2 cups coarsely chopped, peeled tart ness of breath, fatigue, wheezing and hoarseness. Lung cancer can spread to other parts of the body and affect those organs as well. Increasing age is a risk factor for lung cancer. It is less common in people under age 40, and increases greatly after age 65.
