Sunday, June 9, 1935 160th Day Whitsunday (Pentecost) 205 Days to come Blanding At six A.M. all were ready for a trip to the Natural Bridges Mr Jeik Johnson as our guide We drove from Blanding over dug way narrow & short turns for 56 mi and came to Johnsons Camp where we ate our box lunch breakfast. At 9 A.M. we viewed the Edwin Natural Bridge a great wonder in nature. The Salt Lake L.D.S. Temple could stand beneath it. From here we walked three miles over very hard trail in deep red sand and mountain climbing to the largest & most beautiful bridge Agusta. I was quite sick from the heat and climb but after resting awhile & a drink of water we went on our way down the Canon in another dissection two miles to Carolin Bridge which was also very wonderful. I was quite tired out by 7 P.M. when we arrived at the camp after the hardest day I every had 8 mi up ladders, mountains etc. 11 P.M. found us Monday, June 10, 1935 161st Day 204 Days to come I took of 10 in weight yesterday at Blanding to stay the rest of the night but most too tired to sleep but after a bath by candel light and an amatol tablet I did sleep & dream. Cleone was also very tired She & I more than Pap. Myrene & Nina (Cleone) Munday June 10 The morning after. I can hardly walk I am so stiff & sore. After breakfast we say good by to Blanding and start on our way for Mesa Verde National Park. Myrene at the wheel most of the day. We reached Mesa Verde about noon ate our lunch in the Park after which We visited spruce Tree house a wonderful indian home in ruins. The last inhabitants there in 1200 A.D. I did not climb to see any more of the many ruins except from the car. The rest som & went thro several. Drove to Durango
