This collection contains 74 diaries of Dr. Edward Rich and his wife Almira. They begin in 1892 and run through 1965. The bulk of this collection centers on Almira's diaries that run from 1897-1947. During that time she documented her personal life and the medical practice of Edward, the community of Ogden and national events such as the outbreaks of WWI and WWII. The diaries also include newspaper and magazine clippings, memorabilia and pins. |

June 19th Cloteel flew to Los Angeles July 27 Maren went on Buss to Columbus Ohio July Mary to Yosemite July Oertel came home by air Plane in Sept. Junior bought interest in an Air Plane in July and is doing solo flying Dr, Cleone Neno Cleone, Myrene & I went to Mesa Verde & Natural Bridges in July. Cleone was made a member of Acacia Sept 27 Ruth had her tonsils out Sept 9 Junior had a forced landing in his plane little harm done Oct. Avon 7 June in Cal in Oct. Junior & Blanch went to Cal Oct 26 35 Mary A. Rich Pomeray died Nov 3 35 Geo. Q. Rich Drs brother died in July Memoranda Important events of 1935 Blanch B. Rich gave birth to 8th boy Jan 13 Myrelle was operated for apendicits Mar 15 Myrene was set apart as a Relief Society Board member of Mt Ogden. Mar 20 35 Que had his tonsils out Mar 31 35 Monday April 8 Elected Pres Elect to M. A Aux I was made Pres Elect of Medical Aux Ladies Group of Weber Co. April 1 35 April 22 Samuel Parrish died Caddie Rich husband 21 Clinton Pugmire died a nephews son) Mary is teaching dancing in San Wates Cal. Thair Graduated from U S. Army Medical Course given the past eight mo at Carlisle Barracks May 4 with honor, Myrelle was baptized June 2 1935 by her grand father E. I. Rich and confirmed by Bishop Wilson of 12 Ward. Janath Russell graduated from University of Ohio High School June 11 35 Dr, Myrene Cleone Cleone & I went to Mesa Verde & Natural Bridges June 8 1935 |
