Show Tuesday, June 11, 1935 162nd Day St. Barnabas 203 Days to come We had a nice supper last nite at Dove Creek. Our cabins were very comfortable & clean and we had a good rest. This A.M. at six we started homeward over the Million Dollar highway thro Colorado Mts. This has been a day of pleasure and beauty. Wonderful trees & flowers scenery equal to that of Switzerland all day. We wind up the mountains to a height of 11200 ft until we reach snow & rushing waters all about us. Grand scenery all the way. About noon we came down into the little villege of Quray which is very picturesque, have some ice cream by some cards & proceed thro silverton a mining town. We have lunch by the side of the road take picures etc. We arrived at Price Utah about 8 P.M. had a nice dinner & stayed in very nice cabins over night Wednesday, June 12, 1935 163rd Day Ember Day 202 Days to come We had a good nights rest and were on our way, We arrived in Provo about 8 A.M. had a nice breakfast and arrived home at eleven A.M. We enjoyed the trip as the girls were good company, congenial and did the driving however we were all quite tired having driven 1220 mi and spent one day tramping in canons and past of another seeing old Indian ruins. Very interesting and so happy to have had it. After lunch I went to bed and slept all afternoon and did I enjoyed it! Had some letters and other mail. Dr & Mrs Baker looked after things fine and it seemed like a ten day trip instead of 4 days. Cast us each 15.00 75.00 for the five of us. |
