Since 1953, students at Ben Lomond High School have been creating scrapbooks. These books document the memories of the students each year. The scrapbooks hold a snapshot and time capsule of each student body. Each one contains photographs, newspaper articles and a written yearly history. |

Show ae % MONTE BAILEY State Senate Hopeful Senate Bid Announced By Teachers Ben Lomond FL. | High School teacher Monte Bailey’ today announced he will seek thes Utah Senate seat up for election? in Weber County this year.® A Demoerat, he is the first Rulon Garfield, a member of the Ogden School District administrative staff. 3 | PROMOTE TOURISM | Mr. Bailey Said he would promote tourism, industry and/| small business ‘‘so the people! won’t be so dependent on gov-| ernment subsidation.”’ He said he also will work for “more leisure time activities and _ recreation opportunities with special emphasis on the young people. “T feel that lack of meaningful activity leads to drug abuse and crime,” Mr. Bailey said. He expressed “growing concern for ‘ the rise snin‘unemploytae ment while the. inflation 'spiral F C promote legislation to “give local governments the tools to streamline their administrations and tax money.” USU GRADUATE A graduate of Utah State University, he completed graduate work at the University of Utah and has taught in the Ogden City schools for 23 years. He teaches social sciences and coaches the golf team at Ben Lomond High School. _Mr. Bailey was a member of the first Washington Terrace City Council and served as recreation director for Washington Terrace and South Ogden, setting up the first Little League baseball activity in that area. - He is past president of the Ogden chapter of the Defense Supply Association, the Utah High School Coaches Association and the Rolling Hills Swimming Club.
