Show You W, Mahe ust Poe the Views it Ben Lomond High School VOLUME OGDEN, 17 UTAH, FRIDAY, DECEMBER 19, 1969 NUMBER BL Boys, Girls Vie on ‘Inquiring Editor’ On Saturday, December 20, three Ben Lomond boys will compete against three Ben Lomond girls on “Inquiring Editor.” This panel quiz show is aired over KUTV, Channel 2, at 11:30 a. m. tomorrow morning. Competing on BL’s boys’ team will be Kent Groves, Mike Capener, and Brad Montierth. The girls’ team will consist of Louise Leicht, Jan McAllister and Cheryll Higham. Starting last week, each member on the panel has been sent a copy of the Salt Lake Tribune each morning. All questions asked on the show will be from Dec. 11 to 18 Tribunes. They can pertain to world, national, or local news items. The side that answers the questions correctly the fastest will be the winner and will receive points for their efforts. The program was video-taped yesterday afternoon in Salt Lake City. Senior College Information Right now seniors are planning for college, work opportunities, and also for military service. If they are going to college, they have taken the ACT, or are registering for the February test. (To take the February test they must register before Jan. 19). af seniors are planning on attending a college out of state, |_ h AT GATE CITY EVENT Ben Lomond accepted for Dec. 12, 13 an invitation for a Gate City Tournament at Pocatello, Idaho. Fifteen representatives of Ben Lomond went into different events: 3 Debate, Oratory, and Oral Interpretation. The debate resolution this year is: Resolved, that Congress should prohibit unilateral U. S. military intervention in foreign countries. On Friday morning the individual events took place: Oratory and Oral Interpretation. In the afternoon the debates were held. Everybody did well and enjoyed themselves. Lynn Dyment and John Pyner reached the semifinals in Oratory. John made it into the finals (the six best oratorys at the meeting). Congratulations to both of them. The debaters won at least two out of their five debates. It was the first contest they had with another school. -C 9 Pep Club Sponsors Traditional Dance The traditional Christmas Dance will be held on Dec. 19. It is sponsored by the Pep Club. It will start at 8:30 p. m. in the Gym. The cost is $1 per couple, refreshments included. The dress is semi-formal. The band is the Ben Lomond Plaid Piper. The balcony, where the refreshments will be served, will be decorated old fashioned. The Gym will be changed to a winter forest.
