Show FRIDAY, DECEMBER 19, 1969 COURAGE The newly wed couple were in the bedroom when there was a knock at the door. .The husband opened it to find a mug pointing a pistol. The mug forced his way in with intent to steal the valuables in the room, but upon seeing the beautiful young wife in her nightgown, he promptly forgot the jewels. “You!” he said to the groom. “Stand there in the center of the room and don’t move,” and he drew a circle on the floor and directed the groom to stand inside of it. “If you move out of that circle, I’ll shoot you.” So the groom stood in the circle and watched the mug dance with his wife. Then he watched him kiss her, and make love to her. All this time the groom just stood there silently watching. When the mug had finally had his good time and left, the bride turned to her husband angrily, “What kind of a man are you to stand there and watch someone making love to his wife? Are you a coward?” “Of course not,” answered the groom with a twinkle in his eye. “Every time he had his back turned I stuck my foot out of the circle!” | AM AN AMERICAN But I have of the moon. walked the face I have befouled the waters and tainted the air of a magnificent land.
