Dedication Marriott-Slaterville City has a firm committment to preserve the history of our community. To this end, a grant from the Marriott Foundation was obtained, and a project commenced whereby older members of the community are being asked to record their memories of the community and its history. Recorded information has been transferred to DVDs. The text can also be printed out. This is a priceless treasure for the current residents of the city and for their posterity. As our older lifelong residents age, it is of great importance to collect and preserve their memories. Countless bits of history and of life are thus available which otherwise would be lost. One of these older citizens has given an outstanding history of the Community as he recalled his many years of growing up and living within its boundaries, recording it on video tape. He has spent considerable time on two different dates during the year 2007 recording this valuable information. His willingness to give of his time and knowledge is a gift to the entire community, and he richly deserves our commendation. Volume VIII of the Marriott-Slaterville History is therefore dedicated to Carl Hodson with sincere appreciation for his service.
