Show The Pioneer Post Volume LX Issue 8 Marriott-Slaterville City Newsletter August 2007 NOXIOUS WEEDS by Jonathan Saunders - Bad Kat Landscapes It is that time of year again when the pesky puncture vines (Tribulus Terrestris) make our life miserable. You can help eradicate these noxious weeds by removing them from your property and from along the side of the road. Here are some easy ways to get rid of these weeds: 1. Spray with Roundup (Glyphosphate) on driveways and non-grass areas. 2. Treat with 2-4D products along the road and grass areas. Remember that 2-4D only works if it is sprayed when temperatures are consistently below 85 degrees. 3. Use a pre-emergent product, such as Trifluralin, to retard the seed gennination of weeds. 4. Put on some heavy gloves and pull out the puncture vines by hand and dispose of properly. Remember to use caution when spraying for weeds where they is water, animals, or children. Follow the directions for any product you are using to control weeds. Let's work together to get rid of these nasty puncture vines, it keeps the sticker out of our shoes, keeps the kid's bike tires full of air, and save our family pets from having sore feet.__ SUMMED ACTIVITIES August 11th (Saturday) - An Evening of Music at the Park Bring your family to the Marriott Park and enjoy music, local talent, and socialize with friends and family.
