Show Anniversaries June 3, 2007 Holmes Ron and Dixie Holmes of Marriott-Slaterville will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary at an open house for family and friends from 4 to 6 p.m. June 9 at the Marriott-Slaterville Cultural Hall, 250 N. 1500 West. No gifts. They were married June 7, 1957, in the Logan LDS Temple. Born in Ogden Sept. 21, 1937, to Orville "Pete" and Leila Stanger Holmes, he was a member of the Mound Fort LDS Stake high council and served in the Marriott LDS Ward bishopric. He graduated from Weber High School in 1955 and attended Weber State College. He worked 43 years in the trucking business, retiring from Motor Cargo Truck Lines in 1999. He played baseball, was a member of the Wasatch Slopes Cutter/ Chariot Racing Association and American Quarter Horse Association. He trained and raced quarter horses on the flat track. He and his wife are owners of Mill Creek Stables, where they raise quarter horses. Born in Ogden June 19, 1939, to Gerald and Wilma Craynor Dearden, she attended Ogden city schools until age 11 and Dixie and Ron Holmes moved to Marriott. Active in the Marriott LDS Ward, she served as the ward organist for more than 50 years. She enjoys camping trips with her family. She worked for Weber School District as a secretary for 34 years, retiring in 2000. They oversee the Marriott-Slaterville LDS 1st Ward activities. Their children and their spouses are Kim and Matt Lyons, Mick and Sheri Holmes, Wade and Amy Holmes, and Scott and Heather Holmes. They have 15 grandchildren and two great-granddaughters. July 22, 2007 Lloyd and Judy Fuller Fuller Lloyd and Judy Fuller will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Friday, July 27. Friends and relatives may join them at an open house hosted by their children from 5 to 8 p.m. at their home, 596 S. 1900 West, in Marriott-Slaterville. No gifts. Memory letters for their treasure book would be appreciated. They were married on July 26, 1957, in Eden. He was born on April 15, 1940, in Eden. He farmed, worked construction and was co-owner in Utah Auction Service for 25 years until he retired. He still sells machinery occasionally. She was born on June 25, 1939, in Ogden. She was able to stay home and raise their children. She then worked at Cutter Lab, and later in the lunchroom for Weber County schools until she retired. They like to travel, camp and spend time with their family. Their children and their spouses are Brenda and Craig Holley, Jack C. Fuller, Bradley K. Fuller (deceased), Matt Fuller, Jeff Fuller, Bryan K. and Tami Fuller, Jody Burke and Jody May Fuller. They have 14 grandchildren (one deceased) and two great-grandchildren. 169 |
