A WSC graduate, he also attended the School of Executive Development offered at the University of Washington College of Business Administration. He is also a member of the Ogden Exchange Club. Edward vice Jamison, and ‘72, is a senior director of First Security Financial. He is officer and trustee, Industrial Loan Guaranty Corporation. Randy Thompson, '77, of the Nothern Division of First Security Corporation, was appointed secretary of the Ogden Rotary Club and campaign chairman for the Northern Utah United Way. Thredgold, ’73, has been named vice president, staff economist and of Commercial Security _manager Bank’s investment department in Salt Lake City. He began his career at CSB in 1973. In 1974 he was assigned to the money desk, and in 1975 he was named assistant investment officer. In 1977 he was named investment officer and in 1978, assistant vice president. He became vice president and investment officer in 1981 and in 1982 was named manager of the investment depart- ment. <s ae ht ae ae Marshall Henrie, ‘81, has recently been promoted to. Senior Logistics Engineer/Group Leader with Sperry Aerospace and Marine, Inc., in Albequerque, N.M. Marshall heads a group of technical writers preparing flight computer manuals for the B-1 and B-52 aircraft. He received his B.A. degree in journalism from WSC in 1978 and worked for the Associated Press and an Idaho newspaper for two years. After entering the field of technical writing, Marshall completed his A.A. degree in electronics at WSC in 1981. He and his wife Sandy have two daughters. Scott N. Yeck, ‘83, recently completed the Air Support Officer Course at the Maine Corps Air Ground Combat Center, at Twen tynine Palms, Ca. During the 10-anda-half week course, Yeck was provided with a thorough knowledge of air support, assault support and techniques of his employment in the Fleet Marine Forces. A Blake R. Miller, ‘80, Received his M.A. degree in public historical studies from the University of California at Santa Barbara in December 1984. Donnelly, 79, has been named outstanding noncommissioned officer of the quarter for the 325th Supply Squadron at Tyndall Air Force Base, Fla. The competition was based on job knowledge, significant self-improvement, leadership qualities, ability to be an articulate and positive spokesman for the Air Force and other accomplishments. re Lowell Marriott Harrop, ‘73, was recently promoted to manager at AT&T Communications in Salt Lake City. He has won several awards while employed at AT&T. Currently, Lowell is also a certified teacher in Utah and taught a number of years in the Davis County School District. West Tech represents several U.S. manufacturers of aerospace radar and communication components, as well as high tech computer products. Welker, ‘67, was promoted to regional sales manager of Goldline Pharmaceuticals. He will assume his duties in Dallas. He was a sales representative with Alcon Pharmaceutical, Kimberly-Clark, and Johnson and Johnson Pharmaceuticals. Prior to joining Goldline, he was president and owner of MED-EK-AI Systems Co., which specialized in cardiopulmonary equipment. member of the local Elks Club. He is pe John R. Shupe, ‘66, has received an award of merit for photography from the “Best of the West” contest sponsored by the Association of Western Hopsitals. Shupe, who is a photographer at McKay-Dee Hospital in Ogden, received the award for a photograph of a doctor examining a baby during he hospital’s newborn intensive care follow-up clinic. The contest is a regional competition for all hospital public relations projects. The award was presented in Los Angeles in April. Shupe has been a photographer for WSC, the Ogden Standard-Examiner and for the Salt Lake Tribune. He also taught photography at WSC for nine —yy Dean Hughes, '67,an Ogden native, received his B.A. degree in English from WSC and his Ph.D. degree from the University of Washington. After teaching at the university level for eight years, he returned to his home state to pursue a full-time writing career. He also works as a free-lance editor and as a consultant for a firm that presents technical writing workshops. Among the books he has published for children are a trilogy of novels about the expulsion of Mormons from Missouri in the 1830's and a further | novel about a descendant of one of his earlier characters, as well as modernday-novels: Nutty for President, Honestly Myron, Switching Tracks and Millie Willenheimer and the Chestnut Corporation. Lee P. Quillinan, '77, with two brothers as partners, owns and operates Deru’s Glass Works, a successful glass company in Evanston, Wyo. He is active in community events, is a past-president and active member of the Evanston Chamber of Commerce, is currently active in the Home Builders Association and is a mF 1960's M. president 0 Louie Mallane ‘59, of Ketchum, Id., celebrated his 20th year in the restaurant business on June 15. Congratulations. QO 1950's Sharon E. Bigler, ‘74, was promoted to client service representative for Merrill Lynch in February 1985. She has been with Merrill Lynch for ten-and-a-half years, initially as a manager/secretary. She became a registered sales assistant in August 1983. She has her own department—Client Services—and _ is responsible for over 250 active brokerage accounts. |
