Offensively, the team’s approach to football will not change considerably, he said. Arslanian was offensive coordinator for Price for three years during which the Wildcats averaged 33 points per game and 440 yards of total offense per game. In 1987 the Wildcats led the Big Sky in scoring with 37.9 points per game. But reforming the defense will be the number one priority, he said. “We want to have an attacking, aggressive-style defense,” he said. “Defense is how you win conferences. The season we had our best record, 10-3, was the year our defense was the best.” Spring football begins April 10, and Arslanian said he hopes to hire four new assistant coaches by then to preserve the spring schedule. The young Arslanian paid tribute to his father, Sark, who is currently coaching an Italian professional team, as influencing his career. He gave notice, however, that he plans to replace his father as the winningest coach in Weber State history. “We have a young team, but the players are excited. They’re like me, they want to do the job,” he said. \_4 Diane Earnshaw was named the lighting technician for the Christ- *85, Lisa Mechem is a veterinary student at Oregon State University.
